About

My Story

Growing up in Wisconsin, it was a natural choice for me to pursue higher education at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. I earned my B.S. in Chemical Engineering there in the winter of 2013. Shortly after graduating, I took a position as an analytical chemist at a contract research organization (CRO) in the Madison area, utilizing the chemistry portion of my degree.

Not long after, I found an opportunity that better aligned with my desire to work in a field that intersects between engineering and medicine. I joined Tasso as an R&D Engineer and relocated to Seattle, WA in early 2015.

At Tasso, I engaged in a broad range of engineering activities, including mechanical design. This exposure sparked my interest in mechanical engineering, leading me to dedicate my free time to studying and practicing mechanical engineering problems from various textbooks. In 2017, while still working full-time at Tasso, I began consulting, showcasing my ability to solve mechanical design problems.

Initially, my self-employment focused on assisting small companies with minor product modifications. As my clients consistently saw excellent results, I was entrusted with more responsibilities and increasingly complex projects, many of which started from the ground up.

In 2019, Verathon offered me a full-time position as a Mechanical Engineer II. Under the guidance and mentorship of a professional engineer (PE) specializing in machine design, I significantly expanded my mechanical design skills, particularly in plastic part design for injection molding. With several successful sustaining and new product development projects, I was promoted to Mechanical Engineer III in mid-2020. This promotion only intensified my desire to continue learning, leading me to pursue training and certifications in areas such as SolidWorks modeling, GD&T, FEA, and CMM programming.

The next logical step in my career as a Mechanical Engineer was to pursue a Master's in this field, which I began in the Spring of 2022 at Seattle University. The program offered the flexibility to work full-time during the day and attend live lectures in the evening. I focused my studies on control systems engineering, a topic I found absolutely fascinating and plan to continue studying as time permits. I graduated with my M.S. in Mechanical Engineering after the Spring quarter of 2024, achieving a 3.94 GPA.

Today, I continue to work full-time at Verathon while also managing my consulting business during evenings and weekends.
